Tawnya Gilreath, JD, CM&AP, CExP, CBI

Tawnya Gilreath is the founder and CEO of LA Business Pros. She has an extremely diverse background which includes 20+ years’ experience in Information Technology in roles ranging from programmer/analyst to Director of IT. Over the years, Tawnya has owned half a dozen different businesses and has consulted for private and publicly held companies ranging in size from small mom-and-pop shops to large corporations such as Agilent Technologies and Investor’s Business Daily.

Tawnya got involved with business brokerage in 2006. The skills she used previously to analyze business processes and procedures carried over well and helped her to extract information from business owners, quickly assess their businesses and identify potential deal breakers. As the business transaction values increased, she realized that with a broader base of knowledge, she would be able to provide her clients with better service. Based on that and other factors, she went to law school and obtained a Juris Doctor degree.

Tawnya is passionate about education and regularly takes new courses to improve her skills. She is also passionate about writing courses to help educate others and has been the lead subject matter expert for courses written for both the California Association of Business Brokers and the International Business Broker Association.

Tawnya is a Certified Merger & Acquisition Professional, Certified Exit Planner, Certified Business Intermediary, and a practicing attorney (she owns a law practice in which she handles business law and estate planning matters.)

Tawnya is licensed by the California Bureau of Real Estate as a Broker, #01313195 and as a Designated Officer for Whizdom Group, Inc. dba LA Business Pros, #01403121.

David Chavez
M&A Advisor

David Chavez is an alumnus of the Graziado School of Business and Management at Pepperdine University. He worked in the visual communications industry for 20 years before acquiring the first of 4 companies which he grew and sold (both private and franchise businesses.)

David is considered a forward thinking & creative entrepreneur by his peers. His businesses were responsible for developing innovative and cost saving solutions for notable clients such as Nike, Sony Pictures and the California Lottery.

In 2011, David started a career as a business broker with Business Team. He moved on to work with BizEx and subsequently joined LA Business Pros to more fully utilize his business background and experience to help business owners plan and achieve their business sales and exit goals.

David specializes in selling construction service companies and manufacturing businesses. To date, he has sold multiple plumbing and HVAC companies, home restoration businesses, aerospace manufacturers, and sheet metal plants.

David speaks conversational Spanish and enjoys traveling and spending time at home or outdoors with his wife and two teenage sons.

Mark Joey Teves
Web & Marketing Specialist

Mark is a new addition to the team at LA Business Pros. He is a passionate Web Developer with 6 years of extensive experience in Wordpress Theme development and a Digital Marketing Virtual Assistance practice to date.

Mark studied at the AMA Computer College of Davao with a degree in Bachelor of Science in Information Technology. He has acquired an array of skills that has enabled him to be versatile across different platforms, that includes streamlining automation processes for email marketing campaigns to analytics. His vast experience coupled with a knack for learning new things translates to quality outputs in his projects.
